SIOUX CITY, IA – The Tri-City Storm hits the road for Game #3 of the Western Conference Final series against the Sioux City Musketeers after dropping the opening two games of the series on home ice last weekend. The Storm must win tonight’s third game of the series to force a fourth game tomorrow night at the Tyson Events Center. Puck drop for Game #3 of the Western Conference Finals tonight in Sioux City is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (#1 Seed, 2-2-0) returns to action tonight in the Clark Cup Playoffs following last Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Sioux City Musketeers at the Viaero Center. The Storm nearly erased a four-goal deficit in the game, but fell short of completing the comeback. Jeremy Wilmer, Drew Montgomery, and Ilya Nikolaev scored Tri-City's goals in the loss. Sebastian Wraneschitz and Arsenii Sergeev each saw time in net for the Storm during Saturday’s loss. Sergeev replaced Wraneschitz in goal following the 1st period and played the remainder of the game for Tri-City. Postseason scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight’s road game against Sioux City include Ilya Nikolaev (5), Cole O’Hara (2), and Mitchell Miller (2). The Storm won three of four games played against the Musketeers at the Tyson Events Center during the 2021-2022 regular season.
Sioux City (#2 Seed, 4-1-0) is one win away from advancing to the 2022 Clark Cup Final following back-to-back road wins over the Storm at the Viaero Center last weekend. The Musketeers have scored four consecutive goals in each of the team’s wins over the Storm to this point in the Western Conference Finals. Ben Steeves (2), Nick Pierre, and Dylan James scored Sioux City’s goals in Saturday’s 4-3 road victory over Tri-City. Alex Tracy turned away 21 of the Storm’s 24 shots on net to record the win in goal for the Musketeers. Tracy improved to 4-1-0 in postseason play with the victory.
