KEARNEY, NE. – Tri-City Storm defenseman Mitchell Miller has been named the USHL’s Defenseman of the Week for the first time this season and the fifth time in his USHL career. Miller notched his first career USHL hat trick in the Storm’s 8-3 home victory over the Lincoln Stars on Sunday. He scored two goals in Tri-City’s 8-0 shutout of the Stars on Saturday. Miller currently leads all USHL defensemen this season in Goals (23), Points (55), Game-Winning Goals (7), Plus/Minus Rating (+28), Points-Per-Game (1.25), and Shots on Goal (187).
Mitchell Miller, 20, of Sylvania, Ohio, recorded his fourth multi-goal game of the season in Sunday’s 8-3 win over the Lincoln Stars. Miller’s ten shots on net in Sunday’s game were the second most he has recorded in a single game this year. He finished the two-game series against the Stars with a plus/minus rating of +2. Miller has scored eight goals and notched seven assists in head-to-head matchups against Lincoln this season. Miller currently leads all Storm players with seven game-winning goals and twenty-three total goals scored this year.
