KEARNEY, NE. – The Tri-City Storm has added goaltender Sebastian Wraneschitz to the organization’s 25-man roster ahead of tonight’s road game against the Sioux Falls Stampede.
Sebastian Wraneschitz, 19, of Vienna, Austria, joins the Storm after appearing in games this season with the Vienna Capitals (AlpsHL), Victoria Royals (WHL), and the Austrian Men’s Junior National Team (2022 IIHF U20 World Juniors). Wraneschitz appeared in 12 games in net for the Vienna Capitals (ICEHL) during the 2020-2021 regular season. The ICE Hockey League serves as the top professional hockey league in Austria. He posted a record of 5-7-0 and recorded a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 3.18 for the Capitals. His save percentage during his time with Vienna was .886%. Wraneschitz made his North American junior hockey debut on October 2nd, 2021, during Victoria’s home game against the Vancouver Giants. He played in three tournament games for Austria at the 2021 IIHF U20 World Junior Championships against the United States, Russia, and Sweden. Wraneschitz also appeared in goal during one of Austria’s two games at the 2022 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship. He made his debut with the Austria Men’s National Team on April 16th, 2021, in an international game against Belarus.
