Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm will conclude an eight-game homestand this afternoon at the Viaero Center in a matchup against the Sioux City Musketeers. Last night, the Storm defeated the Waterloo Black Hawks by a final score of 5-2 on “Teddy Bear Toss” night. Today’s game will feature a Family 4-Pack ticket deal presented by the Nebraska Lottery. The ticket package includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four drinks and two Nebraska Lottery tickets all for $40. Puck drop for the game is scheduled for 4:05pm.

Tri-City (20-11-2-1) returns to action this afternoon at the Viaero Center for the final game of a three-game weekend. Last night, Carter Mazur (2), Rhett Pitlick, Cole McWard, and Caden Villegas all scored goals in the Storm’s 5-2 home win over the Waterloo Black Hawks. Connor Hopkins recorded his eighth win of the season in goal. Today’s game is the final game in Tri-City’s current eight-game homestand. The homestand ties for the longest in the Storm’s twenty-one season history. The Storm also played eight straight games at home during its 2003-2004 Anderson Cup Championship season. Though Tri-City dropped its opening game of the weekend in overtime to Waterloo on Friday, last night’s home win at the Viaero Center gave the Storm points in the standings for the fourth consecutive game. Tri-City has produced at least one point in the standings in six of its past seven games played. Following this afternoon’s game against the Musketeers, Tri-City travels to Ralston, NE for a road matchup against the Omaha Lancers on Friday to begin a three-game weekend.

Sioux City (18-18-1-0) dropped a 3-1 decision to the Storm one week ago at the Viaero Center and enters today’s game following a 5-2 road victory last night over the Des Moines Buccaneers. The Musketeers have won three of the last four games, with the only loss coming against the Storm last Sunday at the Viaero Center. After allowing the opening two goals of last night’s road game, the Musketeers notched five consecutive goals to earn the victory over the Buccaneers. Justin Hryckowian (2), Brenden Olson, Ethan Edwards, and Doug Grimes all scored goals for the Musketeers in last night’s win. Akira Schmid made twenty-five saves on twenty-seven shots to record the win in net. Sioux City has lost four of the opening five games in the eight-game season series against the Storm. The Musketeers finished the 2019-2020 season with a 1-2-0-1 record in four head-to-head games against Tri-City. Sioux City’s 4-1 win over the Storm on January 8th was the team’s first win at the Viaero Center since defeating the Storm by a final score of 3-2 on April 13th, 2018.

Today’s game is set to begin at 4:05pm CT and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. For tickets to Storm home games at the Viaero Center, call 308-338-8144 or visit www.StormHockey.com
