Middleton, WI. – The Tri-City Storm return to action tonight following a ten-day span with no games. Tri-City (20-15-3-2) looks to bounce back tonight against the Madison Capitols after dropping a 7-3 road decision to the Sioux Falls Stampede on February 4th. Despite the loss, the Storm have won six of the last ten games. Last season, Tri-City defeated Madison 2-1 in its second game of the season at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic, and again on January 5th by a final score of 4-2. The Storm has won four straight games against the Capitols dating back to the 2017-2018 season. Tri-City has never lost a game at Bob Suter’s Capitol Ice Arena. The Storm have consistently proven to be one of the USHL’s best team in the second half of the 2019-2020 schedule. Since the Christmas break, Tri-City has amassed a record of 10-3-1-0. Matthew Knies saw a thirteen-game point streak come to an end in February 4th’s loss to Sioux Falls. His point streak was four games short of Tri-City’s all-time record for most consecutive games with a point (17) set by Brian Ward during the 2012-2013 season. Only one player has scored more power play goals this season than Colby Ambrosio (11), Madison’s Ryan Kirwan (12). Tri-City enters tonight games with a 4-5-1-1 record against Eastern Conference competition this season.

Madison (8-28-3-1) host Tri-City in back to back games this weekend following a 5-4 shootout loss to the Muskegon Lumberjacks a week ago. The Capitols shutout the Lumberjacks by a final score of 3-0 the previous night to snap an eight-game winless streak. Madison is 1-7-1-1 in its last ten games and is in the midst of a seven-game home stretch. Madison is the league’s only team that has yet to reach the 100 goals scored plateau this season, netting a total of 95 goals in forty games played. The Capitols have yet to defeat a Western Conference opponent this season and are currently 0-9-1-0 against Western Conference competition entering tonight’s home game against Tri-City. Through the first forty games of the 2019-2020 regular season, scoring leaders for the Capitols include; Ryan Kirwan (19), Carson Bantle (16), and Reid Pabich (12).  Madison is the only team in the USHL this season to allow more than 1,500 total shots on goal (1543).
