Miller & Capone set to represent Storm in 2020 Biosteel All-American Game

Watch Mitchell Miller & Nick Capone tonight on NHL Network

Plymouth, MI. – Tri-City Storm Defenseman Mitchell Miller and Forward Nick Capone will represent the Tri-City Storm in tonight’s 2020 BioSteel All-American Game at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI. Tonight’s event is a new event in the USHL exhibition schedule that serves as a replacement to the now defunct USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and the previously discontinued USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game. Tonight’s event is an exhibition showcase between Team Gomez, a team made up entirely of American-born NHL draft prospects currently competing in the USHL, and Team Knuble, representing the United States National Team Development Program’s Under-18 Team. Tonight’s game will be broadcast on the NHL Network. More information on tonight’s game can be found at www.BiosteelAllAmericanGame.com. Puck drop for tonight’s game is scheduled for 6:00pm CT.

 

Leading Team Gomez tonight is 2000 & 2003 Stanley Cup Champion Scott Gomez. Gomez appeared in more than 1,000 NHL games from 1999-2016. After being drafted 27th overall in the 1st Round of the 1998 NHL Draft, Gomez notched 756 career points in games with the New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, and Ottawa Senators. Gomez was a member of the United States Olympic Team at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. He most recently served as an Assistant Coach for the New York Islanders during the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons.

 

Leading Team Knuble tonight is 1998 Stanley Cup Champion Mike Knuble. Knuble appeared in more than 1,000 NHL games from 1996-2012. After being drafted 76th overall in the 4th Round of the 1991 NHL Draft, Knuble recorded 548 career points in games with the Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, and Washington Capitals.  Knuble was a member of the United States Olympic Team at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Knuble has served as the Assistant Coach for the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) since 2014.

 

Mitchell Miller, 18, of Sylvania, Ohio has appeared in 32 games with Tri-City this season, after beginning his USHL career last year with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Miller has scored 5 goals this season and notched 12 assists for the Storm offense. Miller is the 48th ranked North American skater in Central Scouting’s Midterm rankings for the 2020 NHL Draft. Miller previously announced a commitment to play college hockey at the University of North Dakota. He will wear #6 in tonight’s game for Team Gomez and is expected to play on the third defensive pairing in the lineup.

 

Nick Capone, 18, of East Haven, Connecticut has appeared in 22 games with Tri-City in the 2019-2020 regular season. Capone has scored 5 goals this season and has recorded 7 assists for the Storm offense. Capone was featured as a “Player to Watch” in Central Scouting’s initial list of draft eligible prospects for this season. He previously announced a commitment to play college hockey at the University of Connecticut. Capone will wear #12 in tonight’s game for Team Gomez and is expected to play on the fourth forward line in the lineup.
