Storm seek fifth consecutive win tonight in Fargo

Fargo, ND. – The Tri-City Storm return to action tonight in a road matchup with the Fargo Force after defeating the Force 3-1 last night at Scheels Arena. In last night’s game, Tri-City goal two goals from Matthew Knies and a goal from Joe Berg to record its fourth consecutive win in the 2019-2020 season. The Storm remained the 3rd place team in the Western Conference standings, improving to 5-5-1-1 in the win. A road win tonight at Scheels Arena would give Tri-City its fifth consecutive win on the season. Puck drop for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:05pm.

 

Tri-City (5-5-1-1) seeks its second consecutive road sweep of a Western Conference opponent tonight in Fargo after downing in state rival Omaha in back to back games at Ralston Arena last weekend. Through the first twelve games of the regular season, Tri-City scoring leaders include; Colby Ambrosio (6), Matthew Knies (4), Felix Carenfelt (4), Benji Eckerle (3), Kyle Aucoin (2), and Ian Murphy (2). Daniel Allin has appeared in more games than any other USHL goalie to this point in the season (10), and is currently tied for the league lead in most wins this season (5). A win tonight would give Tri-City its first single weekend road sweep of the Fargo Force in the team’s history. After tonight’s road game at Scheels Arena, the Storm will play five of its next seven games at home. Tri-City hosts Western Conference foe Des Moines for the first time this season in back to back games at the Viaero Center next weekend. Next weekend’s matchup will be a rematch of the 2019 Western Conference Semifinals that saw Tri-City complete a perfect three game sweep of the Buccaneers.

 

Fargo (3-4-1-0) has dropped three consecutive games for the first time this season, and will play ten of its next thirteen games on the road following tonight’s home matchup against the Storm. Lynden Breen netted the Force’s only goal of the game in last night’s 1st period. Fargo has been outscored 20-28 to this point in the 2019-2020 regular season, and the team’s power play fell to a league worst conversion rate of 7.4% after going 0/4 against the Storm last night. Through eight games completed in the regular season, scoring leaders for Fargo include; Lynden Breen (6), Aaron Grounds (4), Kaden Bohlsen (2), Ondrej Pavel (2), and Nick Strom (2). Goaltender Cole Brady has appeared in all eight of the team’s games this season, and has a record of 3-4-1-0. Brady made 19 saves on 21 shots in last night’s loss to Tri-City. Fargo enters tonight’s home game against the Storm as the 7th place team in the Western Conference.
