Tri-City Storm announce roster for 20th Anniversary Season

The Tri-City Storm has released its full regular season roster for the 2019-2020 season.

Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm has released its full regular season roster for the 2019-2020 season. This year will be the 20th Anniversary Season for the Tri-City Storm, who begin play regular season play tomorrow afternoon at the 2019 DICKS Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. This year’s Storm roster features players from four countries, twelve states, and includes twenty-three players who are currently committed to NCAA Division I programs. The Tri-City Storm begin the 2019-2020 season as the reigning USHL Anderson Cup Champions.

 

Forwards include; #7 Ian Murphy, #10 Joe Molenaar, #11 Asa Kinnear, #14 Chikara Hanzawa, #16 Cody Sherman, #17 Chase McLane, #18 Benji Eckerle, #19 Matthew Knies, #20 Mark Estapa, #22 Joe Berg, #23 Felix Carenfelt, #55 Davis Burnside, #67 Colby Ambrosio, #71 Nick Capone, #86 John Lundy, and #91 Carter Mazur.

Defenseman include; #2 Calvin Dybicz, #3 Nicholas Donato, #4 Michael Ferrandino, #12 Cole McWard, #27 Andrius Kulbis-Marino, #33 Kyle Aucoin, #44 Jack Lagerstrom, #84 Mike Koster, and #92 Mitchell Miller.

Goaltenders include; #1 Daniel Allin, and #29 Joe Sharib

 

This year’s roster includes eleven returning players from last season’s Anderson Cup Championship team. 2019 Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Mike Koster is among the group of veteran players returning to Kearney this season. Tri-City led the world in NHL draft picks at the 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver, producing five NHL draft selections in total. In a testament to building through the USHL Draft, this year’s Storm team includes sixteen former Storm draft selections. In addition to draft picks, two of Tri-City’s tender signings (Colby Ambrosio, Davis Burnside) are also highlights of this year’s roster. Two players (Cody Sherman, Chikara Hanzawa) are products of Tri-City’s annual invite camp in Las Vegas, NV. In total, twenty players (74%) of the Storm’s opening day roster have been drafted, signed, or produced by the Storm’s Main Camp. The remaining players on this year’s opening day roster have been acquired via trade or have secured their spot on the roster on a tryout basis.

 

Tomorrow’s matchup against Western Conference foe Waterloo at the Fall Classic is the official beginning to the Storm’s regular season. Puck drop is scheduled for 5pm ET/4pm CT on FedEx Rink 1 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Tri-City will battle the Youngstown Phantoms at 2pm ET/1pm CT on Friday to complete play at the season opening Fall Classic event. The Storm return home to the Viaero Center on Friday, October 4th for the Home Opener to its 20th Anniversary Season. Advanced tickets sales have already nearly eclipsed the total attendance number for last season’s home opener.
