Storm Announce Plans for 20th Anniversary Season

The Tri-City Storm’s historic 20th Anniversary Season at the Viaero Center is quickly approaching, and the organization continues to prepare to deliver an exceptional gameday experience ahead of the October 4th Home Opener against the Omaha Lancers.

Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm’s historic 20th Anniversary Season at the Viaero Center is quickly approaching, and the organization continues to prepare to deliver an exceptional gameday experience ahead of the October 4th Home Opener against the Omaha Lancers. The Storm will look to build on its most successful season to date, a 2018-2019 season that included a team record 45 wins in the regular season, a record-breaking amount of league awards, and the 2nd Anderson Cup Championship in team history. Tri-City led the world in players drafted at the 2019 NHL Draft, and is slated to return thirteen players from its 2019 Anderson Cup Championship roster. Individual game tickets for the 2019-2020 season will go on sale on September 9th, and can be purchased by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144, stopping by the arena, or by visiting the official team website  Opening Night details and a full list of themes and promotions will be announced next week. Season tickets, luxury suites, flex packs, and group tickets are on sale now.  General Manager Mike Lucas and his staff have been anxiously awaiting to announce plans for the 20th Anniversary Season: “The staff and the owners have been working together on ways to enhance the experience at the Viaero Center.  Personally, I have been around town since I came to Kearney in late May, listening to the feedback.  We can’t wait to welcome you to the Viaero Center in a few short weeks and share in all of the exciting things we are going to offer this season, and for seasons to come.”

Make sure to come out and cheer on the Storm on Saturday, September 7th @ 7:05 p.m. versus the Lincoln Stars. Admission will be free for this pre-season game.  More details to follow next week.

Ticket prices have been lowered for the 2019-2020 season, and a newly introduced advance ticket price will give fans the opportunity to purchase individual game tickets at a discounted rate. First row seating prices have been lowered to $22 and will be available for $20 if purchased in advance. General seating pricing for rows 2-13 is now $17 on the day of the game, and $15 if purchased in advance. Seniors (65+) can purchase tickets in advance for $12, and $14 on the day of game. Military tickets are also discounted at a rate of $10 in advance, and $12 on the day of the game. Senior and Military tickets must be purchased with a valid ID and are limited to one per customer.

Discounts will also be applied to student, teen, and kids’ ticket pricing this season. College students can now attend games for only $8 when purchasing tickets in advance with a valid ID. A college ticket will be available for $10 on the day of the game. The Storm also will offer an $8 advance price ticket for Teens (13-17) and Kids (12&U). Teen and Kids tickets will be offered for $10 on the day of the game. The Storm’s $5 Kids Fridays promotion, sponsored by Funtastic, will return this season and will be available for all eleven Friday home games.

Family 4 Packs will return for all three Sunday home games during the 2019-2020 season.  For $40, fans will receive four game tickets, four nonalcoholic drink vouchers, and four hotdogs!  Family 4 Packs must be purchased at the box office.  Flex packs will also be offered this season for $14 per voucher. Fans may choose between 6 and 20 vouchers and have the ability to choose when and how to use them. For example, a 10-voucher purchase may be used for 10 tickets to a single game, or may be spread out over multiple games. The new Storm flex packs will give fans a variety of options for attending games during the 2019-2020 season. 

A special birthday combo will also be offered this season and will be available for parties of 10 or more. For $16 per person, each guest will receive a game ticket, hotdog, and a bottle of water.

Season tickets are on sale now and are $430 for rows 2-13, and are $530 for front row seating. Season ticket holders will be guaranteed the same seat for all 30 Storm home games this season, and will receive various benefits, many of which will be new to the 2019-2020 season. Season ticket holders now have the ability to purchase additional tickets for friends, family, and guests at a discounted rate of $15 for glass seats, and $12 for rows 2-13.  Season ticket holder benefits will be announced next week. 

The new ownership group and administration are excited to announce the hiring of Executive Chef Kevin Morris.  Kevin is a Kearney native and has over 30-years of culinary experience, leading kitchens in Nebraska, Las Vegas, California, Wyoming, and Colorado.  The food and beverage operation will be elevated to new heights. Chef Kevin has been tasked with creating an entirely new menu for the Viaero Center.  With his experience, the Viaero Center will soon be a destination for new flavors and treats at Storm games, Viaero Center events, and private parties.  When asked about the recent hiring and what fans cans expect this season, Managing Partner Mark Jalcovik said, “We are excited to bring such a talented individual to the Viaero Center.  Chef Kevin is exactly who we needed to enhance the fan experience.  Along with lowering ticket prices, fans will enjoy a new menu that will leaving them craving for more!!!  From the beginning, our goal was to create an event that will transcend what most expect and become a must-see event in Kearney.”   

After unveiling a new broadcast platform and mobile app last season, the Storm will soon release a new official team website that is designed to further enhance the fan experience this season. New items will also soon be available for purchase at the Storm Store. 

The 20th Anniversary season will also showcase three new primary jersey designs, with select home games featuring specialty jerseys.
