Overview:

  • A speedy forward and second-round pick, Weissbach travels across the Atlantic Ocean to Tri-City for his first season in North America and the United States.

Before the Storm:

  • Played in the Swedish junior leagues for Frolunda HC from 2012-16. In 2016, tallied 17 goals and 48 points in 44 games for Frolunda's U20 team. Won the Hlinka Memorial Silver Medal with Sweden in 2015-16.
  • Ranked the 92nd-best European skater in NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft.

Personal: 

  • High school senior at Kearney High School. 
  • Became involved in hockey by going to watch hockey in Gothenburg when he was younger. 
  • Frolunda HC is located in Gothenburg. Former NHL forward Daniel Alfredsson and current NHLer Loui Eriksson both played for Frolunda HC and were born in Gothenburg. Henrik Lundqvist played for Frolunda HC.
