USHL DRAFT: 2016, Phase II, 1st round, 7th overall by the Fargo Force. 

 

 

Overview:

  • The 7th overall pick in the 2016 Phase II Draft, the Storm acquired Tufto, Charlie Dovorany and a 2017 Phase II, fourth-round draft pick from Fargo on January 16, 2017 for Paul Washe, Philip Alftberg and a eighth-round Phase II 2017 draft pick. Considered a highly-skilled forward. 

Before the Storm:

  • Fourth on Fargo in assists (16) and points (21) at the time of trade. Scored first USHL goal on November 10, 2016 vs. Sioux Falls. Recorded five multi-point games with Fargo, including a career-best three points vs. Cedar Rapids on December 28.  
  • 2015-16: Led the BCHL's Vernon Vipers in points (65), goals (25) and assists (40) in 65 games. Also added a +22 rating. Team lost in round 1 to Penticton.
  • 2012-15: Played for the Minnesota-based St. Thomas Academy. Suited up in 71 games and scored 47 goals and 120 points. Also played in the Minnesota Elite League. 

Personal:

  • Middle name is Peter. Odeen Peter Tufto is full name. 
  • Tufto took on the name Odeen from his grandfather, who passed away. Says he always loved the name Odeen so decided to honor his grandfather.
