The Storm (1-0-0, 2 pts – Tied for 1st in Western Conference) came out in the first period outshooting the Musketeers 17-9, but Skoff would make every save in the opening frame.

Tri-City would score 15-seconds into the second period on LW Heikki Liedes’ first goal of the season, which was scored on a rebound shot from RW Kenny Brooks. Center Nick Lappin would pick up the second assist on the only goal of the game.

Sioux City (0-1-0, 0 pts – Tied for 6th in Western Conference) would get their first of two penalty shots in the game, as Musketeers RW Kyle Criscuolo got taken down at the 8:07 mark in the second period. However, Criscuolo would fail on the penalty shot being denied by Copley.

The Muskteers’ LW Brad Robbins would get Sioux City’s second penalty shot opportunity at the 14:29 mark in the third period, but the result was the same as Criscuolo’s attempt.
