STORM, USHL ANNOUNCE 2011-12 SCHEDULE
Western Conference loses Dubuque, gains Waterloo in conference swap

KEARNEY, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm have announced their 60-game regular season schedule for the 2011-12 season. The Storm will open at the Viaero Event Center on Friday, September 30, 2011 against the Sioux City Musketeers and finish the season on the road against the Sioux Falls Stampede on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Notable home games include a New Year’s Eve game against the Omaha Lancers and a Saint Patrick’s Day matchup against the Fargo Force. Also, Stormy (the Storm Mascot) will celebrate his 12th birthday on December 10, as the Storm play the Des Moines Buccaneers in an afternoon game at 3:05 PM.
Tri-City will play eight games each against Fargo, Lincoln, Omaha, Sioux City, and Sioux Falls, six games against Des Moines, four games against Waterloo (who switches to the Western Conference this season), two games against Dubuque and Cedar Rapids, and one game against the rest of the teams in the Eastern Conference. The Storm will play at home against Chicago, Indiana and Youngstown, while playing Green Bay, Muskegon and Team USA-U18 on the road.
The Storm will play 26 games (13 home, 13 away) on Saturdays, 25 games (13 home, 12 away) on Fridays, four games (1 home, 3 away) on Tuesdays, three games (2 home, 1 away) on Sundays, and two games (1 home, 1 away) on Wednesdays this season.
The 16 teams will stay divided into two conferences with Waterloo moving to the Western Conference and Dubuque switching to the Eastern Conference. The Storm will play 50 games against the Western Conference and 10 games against the Eastern Conference this season.

CLARK CUP PLAYOFF FORMAT
The top six teams from each conference will once again make the Clark Cup Playoffs with the top two teams from each conference receiving a first-round bye. Details about the playoff format will be announced at a later date.
