Friday, April 8, 2011
- Game Summary

LINCOLN, Neb. – Tri-City Storm defenseman Jason Binkley scored two power-play goals, including the goal that got the Storm within one of the Lincoln Stars late in the game. However, the Storm winless streak stretched to 11 games with the 4-3 loss at Lincoln on Friday night.

Tri-City (19-29-11, 49 pts – 8th in Western Conference) for only the 18th time this season scored the game’s first goal on Daniil Zharkov’s seventh goal of the season from Dan Kolomatis and Darik Angeli at the 4:39 mark in the first period.

Lincoln (32-22-5, 69 pts – 5th in Western Conference) responded with two goals shortly after the Storm grabbed an early lead, as Matt Prapavessis and Andrew Schmit each scored within 3:18 of each other to give the Stars a 2-1 lead in the first period.

Binkley opened the second period scoring on the power play with his first power play goal of the season 2:03 into the period from Nick Lappin and Kenny Brooks.

However, the Stars responded quickly again with two more goals in the second period to increase their lead on goals scored by Ben Oskroba and Schmit, who tallied his second of the night and 16th of the season.

With under two-minutes left in regulation and the goalie pulled for the extra-attacker, the Storm scored on their sixth power play of the night with Binkley scoring his second goal of the game and fourth of the season from Lappin and Brooks again. But, that would be the closest the Storm would get against the Stars despite a couple late chances to tie the game.

Storm goalie Scott Diebold (10-16-3) made 24 saves on 28 shots in the loss, while Kevin Murdock (28-15-4) made 27 saves on 30 shots in the win for Lincoln.

Tri-City went 2-for-6 on the power play, while going 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Storm return home for the season finale on Saturday night against the Stars, which will wrap up the 2010-2011 season.

Notes: The Storm are 1-5-1 this season against Lincoln… Tri-City is now winless 12-consecutive games on the road to close the season…the Storm score two power-play goals for only the sixth time this season… Tri-City closes the season on the road 6-19-5
