STORM BLANKED BY THE FORCE AT HOME, 2-0
Tri-City couldn’t solve Force goalie Massa on 28 shots on goal

KEARNEY, Neb. – Despite the 36 saves by Tri-City Storm goalie Scott Diebold, the Fargo Force got 28 saves from Ryan Massa in the 2-0 shutout win for the Force. It was only the fourth time this season that the Storm were shutout in a game.
 
The Storm (17-17-9, 43 pts), who are still tied for seventh place in the Western Conference with Sioux City, outshot the Force 9-8 in the first period, but were outshot 30-19 the rest of the game.
 
Fargo (25-16-4, 54 pts – 3rd in Western Conference) scored the game-winning goal at the 14:43 mark into the first period on Colton Hargrove’s 12th goal of the season from Colton St. Clair and Tanner Kero.
 
In the second period, Chad Demers scored his 14th goal of the season getting setup by Jimmy Mullin from behind the Storm net in the slot, as the Force took a 2-0 lead midway through the game. Hargrove added an assist on the goal, giving him a two-point night.
 
Diebold (9-9-3) picked up the loss making 16 saves on 16 shots in the third period alone, while Massa (14-5-3) made 11 saves in the third period to insure his second shutout of the season for Fargo.
 
Both, the Storm and Force went 0-for-6 on the power play, as both teams are now 2-for-22 on the power play in the season series.
 
Tri-City will play the Omaha Lancers on Tuesday night at the Viaero Event Center. The Storm are currently on a season-high seven game home stand.
 
Notes: The Storm home record went to 11-5-5, and are now 0-15-4 when trailing after the second period… Tri-City is 6-15-7 when allowing the first goal this season… Storm forward Cody Murphy’s three-game goal scoring streak was snapped on Saturday night
