STORM ANNOUNCE SKILLS COMPETITION TEAMS
Team Lappin and Team Brooks to go head-to-head in competition

KEARNEY, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm has announced the teams and players who will compete against each other in the 2012 Tri-City Storm Skills Competition. The event will be part of this Thursday’s “Hockey Night in Kearney” event at the Viaero Event Center.
The competition will include hardest shot, fastest skater, stick handling relay, shootout elimination, breakaway challenge (fanciest shootout move), and a 15 minute 3-on-3 game featuring Team Lappin vs. Team Brooks. Also, some youth hockey players from the area will participate in select events in the competition.
Teams are named after Storm captains C Nick Lappin and RW Kenny Brooks. The two captains selected their teams for the competition. Team Lappin will debut the new white jerseys that the Storm have been wearing the past four games, while Team Brooks will debut the new alternate purple jerseys.

Other events being hosted as part of the “Hockey Night in Kearney” celebration include:
5:00 to 6:15 p.m. – Try Hockey Camp for youth
5:30 to 6:15 p.m. – Sled hockey and youth hockey exhibition games.
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. – Tri-City Storm Skills Competition – Team Lappin vs. Team Brooks
7:45 to 8:30 p.m. – Free ice skating, photos and autographs with Storm players
The Storm are back home this weekend hosting the Sioux Falls Stampede and the Lincoln Stars. The Breeze 94.5 FM will air Friday’s game, while ESPN Superstation 1460/1550 AM will air Saturday’s game. The Viaero Wireless Pre-Game Show starts at 6:45 p.m. each night.
