LINCOLN, Neb. – For the third consecutive game against the Lincoln Stars, the Tri-City Storm were shutout by goaltender Kevin Murdock, who led the Stars to a 3-0 win on Friday night. Murdock made 27 saves in the win, which dropped the Storm’s record to 1-3-1 against the Stars this season.

Lincoln (12-13-1, 25 pts) opened the scoring 5:26 into the first period on Zachary Aston-Reese’s first goal of the season in his first game with the Stars. The Storm attempted to clear the puck to the neutral zone, but Lincoln’s Matt Prapavessis was able to keep the puck in the zone at the right-point. Prapavessis passed it to Aston-Reese in the slot for the shot that beat Storm goalie Scott Diebold, who was screened by Stars’ forward Teemu Tiitinen in front of the crease.

The Stars increased their lead at the 6:38 mark in the second period, as Eric Schied scored on the power play from Garret Peterson and Matt Prapavessis. The Stars came into the game with the league’s top power-play percentage and finished the game 1-for-3.
