STORM’S LAST SECOND GOAL WAVED OFF, LOSE 3-2
Tri-City drops second straight in Fargo, five points back of sixth place

WEST FARGO, N.D. – A last second goal by LW Trevor Moore was waved off upon further discussion, and the Tri-City Storm fell to the Fargo Force 3-2. However, a second period goal by Moore extended his goal streak to five games and point streak to six games.
 
Tri-City (6-14-0, 12 pts – 8th in Western Conference) scored back-to-back goals in the second period beginning 20-seconds into the period on C Nick Lappin’s team-leading 12th goal of the season from RW Kenny Brooks and D J.D. Peterson. Lappin would set up Moore’s seventh goal of the season at the 2:37 mark, which was scored off a left-circle faceoff win to Moore in the slot.
 
Fargo (7-11-3, 17 pts – T-6th in Western Conference) would then score back-to-back goals of their own, as C Bryn Chyzyk and RW Austin Farley would score goals for the Force. Farley’s first goal was scored short-handed with 1:51 left in the second period.
 
Farley would strike again following the Force’s fourth power play of the game at the 16:20 mark in the third period, as the goal would stand as the game-winning goal. Farley scored five goals on the weekend, which included both game winners for the Force.
 
Storm G Pheonix Copley (5-10-0) made 30 saves on 33 shots in the loss for the Storm, while G Reed Peters (3-4-1) finished the game with 24 saves on 26 shots receiving the win for the Force.
 
Tri-City went 0-for-1 on the power play, while going 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
 
The Storm will play the Omaha Lancers on Tuesday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium before returning home for a pair of games against Des Moines next weekend. The Breeze 94.5 FM will air Tuesday’s game with the Viaero Wireless Pre-Game Show will starting at 6:45 p.m.
 
Notes: The Storm are now 3-16-3 all-time against Fargo and 0-2-0 on the season… Tri-City is now 5-5-0 when scoring the first goal… Moore now has 11 points (6g, 5a) and a plus-4 rating in his last nine games… Nick Lappin has a four-game point streak (2g, 4a) since returning from his four-game injury absence… Storm LW Thomas Nykopp and RW Michael Vecchione both sat out of the game due to injuries
