Tri-City could not make it four in a row against Fargo on Saturday

FARGO, ND – Led by two goals and an assist from Chad Demers, the Fargo Force beat the Tri-City Storm 4-1 on Saturday night at Scheels Arena. The Storm, who were outshot 35-18, received their first loss against the Force this season.
Nick Lappin scored the opening goal for Tri-City (14-12-6, 34 pts) at the 8:54 mark in the first period. Lappin got to the loose puck to the left-side of the crease and stuffed it into the goal for his fourth of the season. Andrew Dorantes and Cody Murphy picked up the assists on the Storm’s lone goal of the game.
The Storm, for the first time this season, lost in regulation after scoring the first goal of the game and are now 8-1-1 when scoring the opening goal.
Fargo (19-13-4, 42 pts) responded less than five minutes later in the first period, as Tanner Kero scored his tenth of the season after the Storm could not clear the defensive zone. Kero ended the night with a goal and assist.
Jimmy Mullin and Demers each scored in the second period to give the Force the lead, as Mullin’s goal at the 10:59 mark ended as the game-winner. Demers added his second goal of the game in the third period at the 7:57 mark to increase the lead to three goals.
Storm goalie Scott Diebold made 31 saves in the loss, while Ryan Massa made 17 saves in the win for the Force.
The Storm play at the Omaha Civic Auditorium on Friday night against the Omaha Lancers before returning home on Saturday against the Chicago Steel. The Storm are in the midst of playing eight of nine games on the road.
Notes: Storm forward Soren Jonzzon’s point streak ended at four games… Tri-City is 3-1-0 against Fargo this season…The Storm are 1-7-1 when scoring one goal in a game and 6-6-2 when coming off a win this season
