STORM CREATE HAVOC FOR SIOUX CITY IN 3RD, WIN 7-1
Tri-City gets five goals in third period, six players with multi-point games

The Storm are now averaging 4.33 GF/G in three games with Josh Hauge taking over as GM/Head Coach
KEARNEY, Neb. – It was the best third period scoring performance this season by the Tri-City, as they scored five goals in the final period to pull away and beat the Sioux City Musketeers 7-1. Seven Storm players had multi-point games with RW Kenny Brooks and RW Tim Lappin scoring two goals each.
 
Tri-City (8-16-0, 16 pts – 8th in Western Conference) scored their first goal off a defensive-zone faceoff that had Brooks skate up the right-wing and fire in his first of two goals at the 6:15 mark in the first period. Defensemen Tyler Amburgey and John Hrabovsky each were credited with the assists.
 
Sioux City (10-13-0, 20 pts – 5th in Western Conference) responded seconds after their first power play came to an end at the 15:43 mark on C Kyle Criscuolo’s seventh goal of the season from RW Brad Robbins and D Andy Ryan.
 
With 34-seconds left in the second period, LW Trevor Moore scored on the power play from LW Brad Schierhorn and D Desmond Bergin. Schierhorn dumped the puck down to the right-side of the net, as Moore’s stick deflected it passed Sioux City G Matt Skoff.
 
Less than 40-seconds into the third period, Brooks would lead off the scoring with the first of five goals in the third period, as he scored his second of the game and seventh of the season.
 
Shortly after Brooks’ goal, Tim Lappin would score his first of his two goals off a shot from the left-point. C Tim Bonner would get an assist in route to a three-point game (1g, 2a).
 
The Storm scored again on the power play at the 7:10 mark with D Bryan Sinz scoring his first-career goal from Schierhorn and Tim Lappin.
 
Bonner scored at the 15:38 mark to increase the lead to five goals. He then assisted on the empty-net goal by Tim Lappin at the 18:02 mark, which gave Lappin a three-point game (2g, 1a) as well.
 
It was the second time this season the Storm scored seven goals against the Musketeers, which matches the season-high.
 
Storm G Pheonix Copley (7-10-0) made a career-high 42 saves on 43 shots in the win for the Storm, including 39 saves combined in the second and third periods. G Matt Skoff (8-8-0) finished the game with 27 saves on 33 shots receiving the loss for the Musketeers.
 
Tri-City went 2-for-3 on the power play, while going 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
 
The Storm will play the Musketeers again Saturday at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City.  The game will on Classic Hits 98.9 FM with the Viaero Wireless Pre-Game Show at 6:45 p.m.
 
Notes:  The Storm lead the season series 3-1-0 against the Musketeers… Tri-City is now 7-7-0 when scoring the first goal this season… The Storm improved to 7-1-0 when leading after two periods… Storm LW Heikki Liedes, D Dalton Spicer and RW Michael Vecchione all sat out of the game due to injuries… C Nick Lappin went out of the game with an injury in the first period… The Storm increase their goals per game at 2.75 and moved from 15th to 12th in the USHL in scoring
