Print your rosters for Week 17:
KEARNEY, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm have added C Brian Ward and D Ryan Ivey for the remainder of the 2011-12 season. Both players are expected to be in the lineup this weekend when the Storm host a pair of games against the Waterloo Black Hawks.

After attending school at Dartmouth College this season, Ward left school and rejoined the Storm Wednesday for practice. The Haverhill, Mass. native was injured to start his freshman year of college and did not play in one game for Dartmouth this season. Last season, the 6-foot-1 and 195-pound forward had 15 points (9g, 6a) and 26 penalty minutes in 55 games.

Originally, Ward was drafted by the Storm in the second round (24th overall) of the 2010 USHL Entry Draft out of the Governor’s Academy in Massachusetts. Ward, who has another year of USHL eligibility following this season, entered his third and final season of NHL draft eligibility.

Ivey, who played this season for Compuware’s U18 squad, joined the Storm officially Thursday for practice. The Orlando, Fla. native became the second player from the state of Florida on the Storm’s roster this season, as fellow defenseman Dylan Maller is from Parkland. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound blueliner had three assists in 15 games playing for Compuware U18 this season.

Last season with Compuware U18, Ivey had one goal, five assists and 46 penalty minutes in 49 games. The first-year USHL defenseman started his midget hockey with Thunder National U16 in the North American Prospects Hockey League in 2009-10. He had 12 points (3g, 9a) and 26 penalty minutes in 25 games with the midget minor program. Ivey, who has not made an NCAA commitment, isn’t eligible for the NHL draft until June 2013.

Ward will wear No. 24, while Ivey will wear No. 22 for the Storm this season.

Also, getting announced on Thursday by the USHL was the addition of Storm RW Tim Lappin for the NHL Top Prospects Game on Tuesday, January 24 in Muskegon, Mich. Lappin has 10 points (4g, 6a), minus-2 rating and 28 penalty minutes in 27 games so far this season. He is in his first year eligibility for the NHL Draft in June.

Tri-City (11-22-0, 22 pts – 8th in Western Conference) should have all three players in the lineup this weekend, as the team looks to snap a five-game losing streak against the Black Hawks. The Storm enter the weekend only three points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference standings.

The game Friday against Waterloo will be on The Breeze 94.5 FM, while Saturday’s game will air on Classic Hits 98.9 FM with the Viaero Wireless Pre-Game Shows starting at 6:45 p.m. each night.
