KEARNEY, Neb. – After dropping back-to-back games on the road last weekend, the Tri-City Storm return to home ice Friday and Saturday night against the Fargo Force. The Storm will look to extend a two-game home winning-streak at the Viaero Event Center.
Tri-City (11-19-0, 22 pts – 8th in Western Conference) fell one spot in the Western Conference after failing to get standing points in Green Bay and Cedar Rapids last weekend. The Storm enter this weekend two points back of a playoff spot and seven points back of fourth-place Fargo.
The Force beat the Storm in the first two meetings in December, in 7-5 (Dec. 2) and 3-2 (Dec. 3) decisions. Both, LW Trevor Moore and C Nick Lappin recorded a total of four points (2g, 2a) each in the first two meetings for the Storm. However, Force RW/C Austin Farley had seven points (5g, 2a), which included both game-winning goals against the Storm.
Tri-City has won five of their last seven games at the Viaero Event Center and are now 7-7-0 on home ice this season. The Force are 5-6-2 away from Fargo this season and have won four of their last five games.
On Saturday night, the Storm organization will host this season’s Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear to the game and throw it on the ice when the Storm score their first goal. Bears will be collected for distribution to area families through organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, S.A.F.E Center, the Crisis Center and Family Advocacy Network.
The game Friday against Fargo will be on The Breeze 94.5 FM, while Saturday’s game will air on Classic Hits 98.9 FM with the Viaero Wireless Pre-Game Shows starting at 6:45 p.m. each night.
