Freibergs tied the game for the second time at the 11:00 mark in the third period on his third goal of the season, as he shot it from the high-slot with traffic in front of Wilcox.

The Storm would be outshot 16-10 in the third period heading into overtime. Lincoln again outshot the Storm 4-0 in the overtime period after receiving a power play less than two minutes into the overtime. Wilcox would help kill the Stars power play to force a shootout.
