KEARNEY, Neb. – Following the first-ever win against Team USA – U18 in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Tri-City Storm look to start a winning streak this week against Lincoln and Sioux Falls. The Storm will play the Stars twice this week, beginning Wednesday night at the Ice Box in Lincoln.
In addition to acquiring G Adam Wilcox from Green Bay on Monday, the Storm have called up D Griffin Foulk from the Colorado Thunderbirds U18 midget major team for this week’s games. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound blue liner was drafted by Tri-City in the 2011 USHL Futures Draft in the 3rd round (44th overall).
Foulk, who is from Broomfield, Colo., has six points (1g, 5a) and two penalty minutes in 10 games this season. Last season, Foulk had 30 points (9g, 21a) and 46 penalty minutes in 34 games playing with the Colorado Thunderbirds U16.
Foulk and Wilcox could make their Storm-debut against the Stars Wednesday night. Tri-City lost 6-5 in the first meeting between the two teams on Nov. 13 at the Viaero Event Center. The Storm had a two-goal lead (5-3) and allowed three power-play goals with less than four minutes left in regulation.
Following the Wednesday night matchup, Lincoln will travel back to the Viaero Event Center to play the Storm for the final time in the 2011 calendar year. The two teams will play five more times in the second half of the season.
On Sunday, the Storm will host the Sioux Falls Stampede for the first of four meetings in Kearney this season. Tri-City dropped the first two contests to the Stampede in the Sioux Falls Arena on Nov. 5 (3-2) and Nov. 12 (5-3). The Storm have outshot the Stampede 80-73 thus far in the season series.
Classic Hits 98.9 FM will air all three games this week, as the Viaero Wireless Pre-Game Show will start at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday and 4:45 p.m. on Sunday.

- Leading the setup is RW Kenny Brooks, who has nine assists this season…Overall, Brooks has 12 points (3g, 9a) in 15 games…He is in the Storm’s Top 20 all-time (currently – Tied for 18th all-time) in assists (37), which has him tied with Jesse Martin (played 2006-07)…Brooks is only three points from being in the Top 20 in points, and 10 penalty minutes from being in the Top 20 in that category as well
- LW Thomas Nykopp has four points (3g, 1a) in his last four games, while averaging four shots per game…LW Trevor Moore has three points (1g, 2a) in the last four games
- G Pheonix Copley (4-9-0) only allowed two goals on 56 shots last weekend, which lowered his goals-against average to 3.11 GAA and increased his save-percentage to .903… G Adam Wilcox has only allowed four goals in the last four games with three of the games blanking the opposition…Wilcox’s save percentage in the last four games is .960…Wilcox was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 6th round (178th overall) of 2011 NHL Entry Draft
- The power play is ranked 14th in the USHL going 9-for-76 (11.8%)…the penalty kill is also ranked 14th in the league at 78.9% (56-for-71) after going 13-for-13 last weekend

- RW/C Austyn Young didn’t play against the Storm in the first two meetings due to playing for Team USA at the World Junior A Challenge…Young has seven points (3g, 4a) in eight games with being pointless in three of the eight games this season…Young (Ranked 17) was listed by NHL Central Scouting as one of the top 25 draft eligible players for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft playing in the USHL in the preliminary rankings
