KEARNEY, Neb. – After beating the Chicago Steel last Saturday night in front of 3,275 fans, the Tri-City Storm take their two-game home winning streak into Friday night’s game against the undefeated Indiana Ice. The Storm will travel Saturday night to Sioux City to play the Musketeers for the second time this season.
 
New to the Storm roster is defenseman Desmond Bergin. The native of Natick, Mass. came from the Boston Jr. Bruins (EJHL) after playing for St. Sebastian’s Prep School. The 18-year old had 45 points (13g, 32a) in 54 games over the past two seasons at St. Sebastian’s.
 
Bergin, who is committed to Harvard University, is six feet and 190 pounds, and will be wearing No. 5 for the Storm this season.
 
In attendance on Friday night at the Viaero Event Center will be legendary goalie Jim Craig, who helped the U.S. hockey team win the gold medal in the 1980 Olympics.
 
The game Friday against Indiana will air on The Breeze 94.5 FM, while Classic Hits 98.9 FM will air the game Saturday night from Sioux City.

Tri-City Storm – 2-2-0, 4 pts (5th in Western Conference)
Ø The Storm are led in points and goals by C Nick Lappin, who has four points (3g, 1a) in four games this season…Lappin scored both goals in Saturday night’s 2-0 win against the Chicago Steel…It was Lappin’s second career multi-goal game
Ø LW Thomas Nykopp is on a two-game point streak with two points (1g, 1a) in the last two games for the Storm
Ø G Pheonix Copley (2-2-0) has posted a 2.02 GAA, .921 save-percentage and two shutouts in the four games for the Storm
Ø Tri-City is 15-for-17 (88.2%) on the penalty kill and 0-for-20 (0%) on the power play

Friday, Oct. 21 vs. Indiana Ice – 4-0-0, 8 pts (1st in Eastern Conference)
Ø The Indiana Ice currently lead the USHL with a 5.00 goals per game average
Ø Leading the way for the Ice is no surprise in LW Daniil Tarasov with nine points (4g, 5a) in four games…Last season, Tarasov was second leading scorer on the team with 75 points (37g, 38a) in 57 games
Ø Not far behind Tarasov, is C/LW Sean Kuraly with eight points (2g, 6a) in four games…Kuraly was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 5th round (133rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft…Last season, Kuraly had 29 points (8g, 21a) in 51 games playing for Indiana
Ø Indiana is 9-for-20 (45.0%) on the power play and 18-for-21 (85.7%) on the penalty kill…the Ice power play is the best overall in the USHL
 
Saturday, Oct. 22 @ Sioux City Musketeers – 1-4-0, 2 pts (8th in Western Conference)
Ø Sioux City is in the bottom four in the USHL in goals for (1.80) and  goals against (3.80)
Ø Last weekend, the Musketeers were outscored 14-3 in two games against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Lincoln Stars
Ø Sioux City is led by second year defenseman Jordan Schmaltz, who is regarded by most as the favorite to repeat the USHL’s defensive scoring title after posting a league-high 44 points (13g, 31a) by a defenseman… Schmaltz has four points (2g, 2a) this season
Ø The Musketeers only win this season was at home against the Fargo Force on Oct. 8 (5-2 W)
Ø Sioux City is 2-for-18 (11.1%) on the power play and 19-for-21 (90.5%) on the penalty kill
