Cedar Rapids, IA. – The Tri-City Storm will play the final game of a six-game road trip and the final road game of the regular season tonight at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Tonight’s game is the second and final meeting between the two teams and the Storm’s first and only trip to the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena this season. In the only previous meeting between the Storm and the RoughRiders, Tri-City triumphed in a 3-2 home win at the Viaero Center on December 1st. Ronnie Attard scored twice, and Colby Ambrosio scored his 8th goal of the season. Jake Barczewski stopped 16 of 18 shots to record the win in net. Following tonight’s matchup, Tri-City will return home for the final two games of the regular season next weekend. Puck drop in Cedar Rapids is set for 7:05pm.

Tri-City (44-11-3-1) dropped a 4-2 decision to the Sioux City Musketeers last night at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA. The loss was the first in regulation for the team in over a month, since Tri-City dropped a Friday night game in Sioux Falls by a final score of 4-1 to the Sioux Falls Stampede on March 1st. Tonight, the Storm will look to avoid dropping back to back games for the first time since January and try to avoid dropping back to back games in regulation for the first time since November. With wins in its last three games of the season, this year’s Storm team can tie the USHL record for most points in a single season (98), a record held by the 2011-2012 Green Bay Gamblers and the 2012-2013 Dubuque Fighting Saints. Last season, the Storm and the RoughRiders split the two game season series with each team recording wins on home ice. Tri-City is 14-1-1-1 against Eastern Conference competition this season.

Cedar Rapids (33-20-3-2) currently holds the 4th place spot in the Eastern Conference standings but can still capture a 1st Round Bye in the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs with wins over its last four games. The Muskegon Lumberjacks have secured the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference and Chicago, Youngstown, and Cedar Rapids are all still seeking the 2nd seed, and an automatic bye in the opening round of the Clark Cup Playoffs. The RoughRiders dropped a road decision to the Dubuque Fighting Saints last night at the Mystique Ice Center in Dubuque, IA by a final score of 4-3. Following tonight’s matchup against the 2019 Anderson Cup Champion Tri-City Storm, the RoughRiders will travel to the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI for an afternoon matchup with the Green Bay Gamblers.
