Urbandale, IA. – The Tri-City Storm hit the ice tonight at Buccaneer Arena as the 1st place team in the USHL league standings. The Storm enter tonight’s game following a 3-2 shootout win over Sioux City at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA on Sunday afternoon. Tonight’s game is the USHL Game of the Week on HockeyTV. Tri-City (29-8-1-1) completed a three game sweep last weekend over Youngstown, Des Moines, and Sioux City, and currently hold an eight point over Waterloo for 1st place in the Western Conference standings. Sunday’s win over Sioux City gave the Storm its 29th win of the season in its 39th game. With 29 regular season wins, Tri-City has now matched last season’s win total and has also eclipsed the regular season win total of 28 games by the 2015-2016 Clark Cup Champion Storm team. A win tonight would give the team its first 30-win regular season win total since the 2014-2015 season. Storm Captain Ronnie Attard has recorded a point in each of the Storm’s last five road games, a streak that dates back to Tri-City’s 8-2 thrashing of Team USA on Friday, January 4th. The Storm enter tonight’s game having won four consecutive games and have outscored opponents 20-11 during that stretch. Following tonight’s matchup, Tri-City will return home to the Viaero Center for back to back games against the Green Bay Gamblers on Friday, February 8th and Saturday, February 9th. Puck drop for both games are scheduled for 7:05pm.

Des Moines (23-12-1-3) enter tonight’s game against the Storm following a 1-0 shutout loss on home ice last night to the Central Illinois Flying Aces. The Buccaneers currently trail Tri-City by 10 points in the Western Conference standings and will look to even up the seven game season series with a win on home ice tonight. Tri-City has won 3 of the first five games in the season series, including a 7-4 win over Des Moines one week ago. In last Saturday’s loss to the Storm, Des Moines got goals from Luke Manning, Scooter Brickey, and Matt Brown (2). Des Moines used both goaltenders in the game, with Roman Durny making 13 saves on 18 shots, and James Durham making 6 saves on 7 shots. Tonight’s matchup will be the final between the two teams until the regular season series finale on April 12th at the Viaero Center in Kearney. A win tonight by the Storm would clinch a regular season series victory over Des Moines for the second consecutive season.

Today’s game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. For home game tickets, and additional information on the Tri-City Storm, visit www.StormHockey.com or call 308-338-8144.
