Posted 22 days ago ago by Kendall Grayson

Lincoln, NE. – The Tri-City Storm faceoff against rival Lincoln tonight at the Ice Box following a 3-0 home shutout over the Omaha Lancers last night at the Viaero Center in Kearney. Tri-City improved to 13-4-1-0 on the season in the win and jumped from 3rd to 1st in the USHL’s Western Conference standings. The Storm and the Stars will meet tonight following a 7-2 defeat of Lincoln by Tri-City on Wednesday. Tri-City’s seven goals scored in Wednesday night’s win over the Stars set a new season high for most goal scored in a single game.

Tri-City (13-4-1-0) has won three consecutive games and seven of its last ten. The Storm has won three of the first four games in the regular season series against the Stars. Colby Ambrosio has scored four goals in his last two games and continues to lead the Storm in scoring with 7 goals scored on the season. Zac Jones recorded an assist on Ambrosio’s game winning goal last night and has a team high 11 assists in the 2018-2019 regular season. Isaiah Saville improved to 9-2-1-0 on the year in last night’s shutout of Omaha. Saville leads the USHL with a 1.42 Goals Against Average (GAA), and a save percentage of .941%. Including both of the Storm’s wins at the USHL Fall Classic in September, Tri-City is 10-3 when playing away from home this season.

Lincoln (5-9-3-1) dropped a road contest to the Des Moines Buccaneers last night in Urbandale, IA by a final score of 4-3. The Stars return home tonight as the 8th place team in the Western Conference standings with 14 points on the year. Since defeating Tri-City 3-0 on November 11th, the Stars have lost four straight games and return home tonight looking to snap the losing skid. With 11 goals on the season, Lincoln’s Shane Pinto is currently tied for 5th for the most scored by any player in the USHL this season. The Stars enter tonight’s game 2-5-2-1 in the last ten games.

Today’s game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio.
