Tri-City set to battle Omaha at Viaero Center

Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm return home tonight to host rival Omaha following a 7-2 road defeat of the Lincoln Stars on Wednesday night at the Ice Box in Lincoln, NE. The seven goals scored by the Storm set a new season high, and marked the most goals scored by the team in a single game since Tri-City defeated Des Moines 9-1 at the Viaero Center on January 6th, 2017. Colby Ambrosio recorded his 1st career hat trick and Jake Barczewski picked up the win in goal for the Storm. Tonight’s game is set to begin at 7:05pm, tickets can be purchased online through www.stormhockey.com, by calling 308-338-8144, or by visiting the Viaero Center Box Office today.

 

Tri-City (12-4-1-0) enters tonight’s game with wins in four of its last five games. The Storm last played at the Viaero Center on November 10th, and defeated the Sioux Falls Stampede by a final score of 4-2. Tri-City will travel to Lincoln tomorrow night before playing its next five games on home ice at the Viaero Center. Tonight’s game between the Storm and the Lancers will be the 6th meeting of the season between the two teams. The Storm has won three of the first five games in the regular season series. Through the first 17 games of the 2018-2019 season, Colby Ambrosio leads the team with 6 goals, and Zac Jones leads the Storm with 10 assists on the season.

 

Omaha (6-9-0-2) travels to Kearney tonight for a road matchup with the Storm as the 7th place team in the USHL’s Western Conference standings. The Lancers have lost four of the last five games, including a 1-0 loss to Tri-City at Ralston Arena on November 9th. Omaha is one of only three teams in the USHL to record more than 300 penalty minutes so far this season with 308 on the year. Omaha is the only team to pick up a road victory against the Storm this season, defeating the Storm October 21st & November 2nd. The road team has won each game in the season series between the Storm and the Lancers this season.

 

Tonight’s Storm game at the Viaero Center will feature several promotions before and throughout the game. The Storm Store will feature Black Friday deals beginning at 6pm and will continue to offer deals on official Storm merchandise during the game. The first 1,000 fans at the game will receive a free black pom pom, and fans can purchase a special “BlackJack” Jell-O shot during the game for only $2. Kids Tickets will be available for $5.

 

Today’s game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. HockeyTV is a subscription based service that carries all Storm home and away games throughout the season.
