Storm host Omaha in final game of weekend

Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm host Omaha tonight at the Viaero Center following a 6-2 win against the Des Moines Buccaneers last night at the Viaero Center. Tonight’s game is the fourth and final game of the week for Tri-City, and the third game for the Storm in the last three days. Puck drop between the Storm and the Lancers is set for 5:05pm.  


Tri-City (6-1) looks to close out a three game weekend with a win against in state rival Omaha tonight at the Viaero Center. The Storm enter today’s game as the 1st place team in the Western Conference standings. In the only previous matchup of the season, Tri-City recorded a 5-1 road win against the Lancers at Ralston Arena on October 6th. Last night, Tri-City scored a season high three power play goals in a 6-2 home win over Des Moines. The six goals scored by Colby Ambrosio, Elias Rosen, Connor McMenamin, Joe Molenaar, and Brad Morrissey was also a season high for the Storm offense. Joe Molenaar has now scored in back to back games after netting his 1st career goal Friday night in Tri-City’s 4-2 road loss to Des Moines. The goal scored by Elias Rosen was the 1st of his career, and Colby Ambrosio’s two power play goals marked his first multi goal game with the Storm. Jake Barczewski picked up the win in goal last night, improving to 2-0 on the 2018-2019 season. Brad Morrissey leads the team with seven points on the year, and also is tied for the team lead in assists with Filip Formsark. Both Forsmark and Morrissey have notched five assists through the Storm’s first seven games. Jake Crespi and Colby Ambrosio lead Tri-City with three goals on the year.


Omaha (2-4) seeks its first win against the Storm in today’s game after dropping the only previous matchup at home on October 6th. The Lancers will hit the ice today for the first time in seven days following a 7-2 home loss to the Dubuque Fighting Saints last weekend. Omaha will face a Tri-City team today playing its third game in three days, and fourth game of the last six days. Jan Kern enters tonight’s game as Omaha’s scoring leader, with three goals and four points on the season. Logan Will is also tied for the team lead with four points registered through six regular season games. Jaxon Nelson leads the Lancers with three assists. Omaha enters tonight’s game as the last place team in the Western Conference standings with four points.


Tonight’s game is set to begin at 5:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. HockeyTV is a subscription based service that carries all Storm home and away games throughout the season. Storm Radio is the new audio broadcast home for Tri-City Storm hockey and can be accessed through Mixlr,, or by downloading the official Tri-City Storm Mobile App. The broadcast will begin twenty minutes prior to the advertised game start time.
