Posted 16 days ago ago by Kendall Grayson

Ralston, NE. – The Tri-City Storm hit the road tonight to faceoff Omaha in Ralston, NE following two victories at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, PA. Last week, Tri-City defeated Youngstown and Madison to jump out to a 2-0 record to start the 2018-2019 regular season.

Tri-City (2-0) travels to Omaha tonight looking for its first true road victory of the regular season. Tonight’s game is the only game of the weekend for Tri-City and the last game before Friday night’s home opener vs. Des Moines at the Viaero Center in Kearney. Through the season’s first two games, Benji Eckerle leads Tri-City with two goals, and is also tied for the team lead in points with Keaton Pehrson. Pehrson is the team’s assist leader with three points. Both of Tri-City’s goalies picked up wins last week, with Jake Barczewski recording the win over Youngstown, and Isaiah Saville registering a win against Madison. Tri-City is off to a 2-0 start in the regular season for the 2nd consecutive season.

Omaha (1-2) defeated rival Lincoln 5-4 in overtime last night at the Ice Box in Lincoln, NE to bounce back after dropping both games at the USHL Fall Classic last week. The game winning goal in overtime was scored by Michael Colella, who was skating in his first career game with the Lancers. Tyler Carpenter and Brian Silver are the only Lancers to score multiple goals through three games played, leading the team with two goals each. Omaha’s power play is currently ranked 13th at 12.5%, and the Lancer penalty kill is 15th best in the league at 62.5%. Tonight’s game at Ralston Arena will serve as the home opener for Omaha.

Tonight’s game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. HockeyTV is a subscription based service that carries all Storm home and away games throughout the season. Storm Radio is the new audio broadcast home for Tri-City Storm hockey and can be accessed through Mixlr, StormHockey.com, or by downloading the official Tri-City Storm Mobile App. The broadcast will begin twenty minutes prior to the advertised game start time.
