Storm finish three game weekend with win over Omaha

Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm finished a three game weekend in Ralston, NE with a 2-1 win over the Omaha Lancers on Sunday. Ian Murphy and Jake Crespi scored the Storm’s goals, and Isaiah Saville made 23 saves in the win.

 

Tri-City’s Ian Murphy scored the game’s first goal on the power play at the 6:49 mark of the 2nd period. The goal was assisted by Colby Ambrosio and Joe Molenaar. The Storm added another goal with less than two minutes to go in the 2nd period to increase the lead to 2-0. Jake Crespi scored his first goal of the preseason at 18:09 of the 2nd period with Colton Kalezic and Joe Molenaar picking up assists on the goal. Omaha’s Mathieu De St. Phalle cut the Storm lead in half with less than a second to go in the period. The Storm carried a 2-1 lead into the 3rd period.

 

No goals were scored in the 3rd period, and the Storm won its third game of the preseason by defeating Omaha 2-1. Isaiah Saville picked up the victory in net after making 23 saves on 24 Lancers shots. The two teams compiled a combined total of 94 penalty minutes during the game. Tri-City finished the game 1/5 on the power play and 5/5 on the penalty kill.

 

Tri-City returns to action Thursday with another matchup with Omaha. Puck drops is set for 7:05pm.

 

Thursday’s game will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. HockeyTV is a subscription based service that carries all Storm home and away games throughout the season. Storm Radio is the new audio broadcast home for Tri-City Storm hockey and can be accessed through Mixlr, StormHockey.com, or by downloading the official Tri-City Storm Mobile App. The broadcast will begin twenty minutes prior to the advertised game start time.
