Kearney, NE. – Tri-City Storm draft pick Brendan Poshak has announced a commitment to play college hockey at Northern Michigan University. Poshak was drafted 102nd overall in the 7th round of the 2018 USHL Phase I draft.

Brendan Poshak, 16, of Green Bay, Wisconsin skated in twenty seven games last season for the Notre Dame Academy Tritons in Green Bay, WI. He scored thirteen goals and recorded eighteen assists for the Tritons offense during the 2017-2018 season. In addition to his time with Notre Dame Academy, Poshak also skated last season with the Team Wisconsin U15 program.

“Northern Michigan is the right place for me to go to school and play college hockey. The coaching staff there is great, Marquette, MI is where I was brought up, so I know I will feel comfortable there. This season I hope to get bigger, stronger, faster, improve my body position on the ice, and win more battles in the corner.”- Forward Brendan Poshak

“Brendan is someone who we were extremely high on going into the draft, every time we saw him play, we seemed to like him more and more. He’s a player who fits our style, and someone who plays with a high motor and a very good hockey sense. Brendan has an impact in the game whether he’s scoring or not. ” -Head Coach Anthony Noreen

The Northern Michigan Wildcats men’s hockey program has appeared in eight NCAA Tournament’s, three Frozen Four’s, and won the 1991 National Championship.
