Kearney, NE – The Tri-City Storm host the Sioux Falls Stampede for the 2nd consecutive night following a 2-1 win by Tri-City in last night at the Viaero Center. Adam Goodsir and Keaton Pehrson scored the Storm’s goals and Jake Barczewski stopped 15 of 16 Sioux Falls shots to pick up the win in net. Tri-City seeks its third straight win in tonight’s game. The Storm passed Lincoln for 5th place in the Western Conference standings with yesterday’s victory.

Tri-City (29-19-1-2) evened up the season series vs. Sioux Falls in a 2-1 home win over the Stampede last night. Each team has now won a game in the season series with two matchups remaining on the year. Adam Goodsir scored his 10th goal of the season on the power play in the 2nd period, and Keaton Pehrson netted an even strength goal for his 5th tally of the year in last night’s contest. Bryan Yoon recorded his 29th assist of the year on the games 1st goal and continues to lead Tri-City in assists this season. Yoon is 5 assists shy of tying the Tri-City Storm record for assists in a season by a defenseman. Mattias Goransson registered 34 assists during the 2015-2016 season and holds the organization’s single season record for most assists by a defenseman. Current St. Louis Blues forward Jaden Schwartz recorded 50 assists during the 2009-2010 season and holds the team record for most assists in a single season. Jake Barczewski made his 20th appearance in net last night for the Storm and recorded his 10th career victory. Barczewski is currently 7th among all USHL goaltenders with a 2.35 GAA and his save percentage of .912 is 9th best in the league.
Sioux Falls (29-15-4-4) had won 4 of its last 5 games entering last night’s matchup with Tri-City. The Stampede were outshot 28-16 by the Storm and dropped their first game of the season to Tri-City in the loss. Mikhail Berdin stopped 26 of 28 shots in the loss for the Stampede and Artem Ivanyuzhenkov scored the team’s only goal in the 2nd period. Sioux Falls still holds onto 4th place in the Western Conference and can go to 3rd place with a win tonight over the Storm. Tri-City and Sioux Falls will meet one week from tonight in Sioux Falls for the final game of the season series.
Make-A-Wish Night will be held at the Viaero Center during tonight’s game. Tri-City will host several kids from Make-A Wish and also wear specialty jerseys during the game. These game worn jerseys will be auctioned off following the game with the proceeds going towards cancer research.
