Fargo, ND – The Tri-City Storm faceoff tonight against the Fargo Force at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND for the final time this season. In tonight’s game, Tri-City will be searching for its first win against the Force this season. Fargo shutout the Storm by a final score of 3-0 in last night’s opening game of the weekend.

Tri-City (23-15-1-1) was held off the scoreboard in last night’s game for the 2nd time this week, after falling 1-0 to Omaha on Wednesday night. The game marked the 5th time Tri-City had been held off the scoreboard this season. The 12th ranked Storm power play went 0/4 in last night’s loss, and the 4th ranked Storm penalty kill was a perfect 3/3. Specialty teams could be evenly matched again tonight as Tri-City averages 16.53 penalty minutes per game, and Fargo averaging 16.52. With the loss, the Storm dropped to 11-7-0-1 in road games this season. Tri-City has only led after the 1st period in one road game this season, defeating Sioux City 3-2 in a shootout on October 28th. The Storm are 16-0-1-0 when leading after two periods this season, and a good start will be critical to their success in tonight’s game.
Fargo (23-13-2-4) remains the 4th place team in the USHL standings following last night’s 3-0 win over Tri-City. The Force currently have 52 points in the standings, and trail league leading Omaha by 7. Fargo goalie Strauss Mann recorded his 3rd shutout of the season in last night’s game, and improved his overall record to 12-7-1-1 on the season. Goal scorers for Fargo included Ben Meyers, Griffin Loughran, and Mark Senden. With a win today, Fargo could vault into 2nd place in the league standings with 54 points on the season. The Force improved to 9-8-2-3 on home ice in last night’s victory.
