Tri-City drops 3-0 decision to Fargo

Fargo, ND. – The Tri-City Storm were shutout in tonight’s game in Fargo, falling to the Fargo Force by a final of 3-0.  The final marked the 6th consecutive loss for the Storm, and the 2nd time this week Tri-City has been shutout.


The first period ended in a tie after neither team found a goal in the opening twenty minutes of the game. Tri-City outshot Fargo 8-4 in the 1st period but ended the period in a 0-0 tie. Fargo quickly opened the scoring in the 2nd period, scoring just 34 seconds into the middle frame. Ben Meyers netted his 13th of the season with William Fallstrom and Evan Bell recording asssits on the game opening goal. Griffin Loughran added another 2nd period goal for Fargo at the 11:54 mark to increase the Force lead to two goals. Evan Bell and Spencer Meier picked up assitsts on the goal. The 2nd period ended with the Force leading 2-0.


The lone goal of the 3rd period was scored by Fargo’s Mark Senden at the 5:00 mark of the period. The goal was the 10th scored by Senden this season. Force goalie Strauss Mann recorded the shutout in net, stopping all 24 Storm shot. Filip Larsson lost his 10th game of the season in net for the Storm, dropping his overall record to 16-10.


The Storm return to action tomorrow night at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. The broadcast will begin at 6:45pm on HockeyTV and the Breeze 94.5FM. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.
