Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm will look to bounce back tonight against the Dubuque Fighting Saints following a 4-2 home loss last night. Tonight’s game will be the final home game of the 2017 calendar year for the Storm.

Tri-City is coming off back to back to losses for the first time this season ahead of tonight’s game. The matchup against Dubuque will be the second and final of the season. With the loss last night, the Storm dropped to 4-1 vs. Eastern Conference teams this season. Dubuque is now just one game back of 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. Try-City remains the 2nd place team in the Western Conference.
The Storm penalty kill enters tonight’s game as the highest ranked penalty kill in the USHL. The Storm have turned away 88.9% of opposing team’s man advantage opportunities this season. The Fighting Saints power play dropped from 1st to 2nd in the USHL in last night’s 4-2 win. The Dubuque power play is converting on 24.7% of its chances.
In the loss last night, Tyler Ward was named the 3rd star of the game. He scored his 5th of the season in the 3rd period to spark the Storm’s comeback efforts. Hugo Blixt scored his 4th goal of the year shortly after but the Storm comeback attempt would ultimately fall short after a late goal from the Fighting Saints.
Jake Barczewski fell to 1-2 on the season in last night’s loss. Jaxon Castor improved to 7-5-2-1 in the Fighting Saints victory. The Storm go for their 16th win today in the 22nd game of the season.
