Preview: Storm seek back to back wins over Madison

Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm will attempt to sweep the weekend series vs. Madison in today’s afternoon game at the Viaero Center. Last night, Tri-City defeated Madison 5-2 to pick up their league leading 7th home victory of the season. The Storm improved to 13-4 on the season last night and currently have the best winning percentage in the USHL (76.5%).

The Storm return to action today having won eleven of the last fourteen games. Tri-City will face Eastern Conference foe Madison for the final time this season in this afternoon’s matchup. The Storm have now improved to 3-0 vs. teams from the Eastern Conference.

 

Tri-City got goals in last night’s 5-2 win from Charlie Dovorany, Joey Cipollone, Hugo Blixt, Jake Crespi, and Johnny McDermott. Madison’s Ryan O’Reilly and Kamil Sadlocha scored the only goals of the game for the Capitols. With the loss, Madison is now winless in its last five games. The winless streak is the longest active streak of any team in the USHL.

 

Filip Larsson recorded the win for the Storm last night, stopping 15 of 17 shots. Tri-City recorded a season high 42 shots on goal in the win.

 

Today is “Boy Scout Day” at the Viaero Center, and nearly 1,000 Boy Scouts are expected to be in attendance.
