Sioux Falls, SD. – The Tri-City Storm will attempt to win three games in a single week for the first time this season tonight in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in a matchup against Western Conference foe Sioux Falls. The Storm have twice trailed this week entering the 3rd period, and twice have come back to win. Tri-City defeated Lincoln on Wednesday night and defeated Sioux City in overtime last night. Tonight is the final game in the Storm’s current four game road trip.

Charlie Dovorany scored an overtime game winning goal last night for Tri-City to secure the victory in a thrilling come from behind game in Sioux City, Iowa. The Storm have made the short trip from Sioux City, IA to Sioux Falls, SD and prepare for their first game against the Stampede this season. The game will be the only matchup in the USHL tonight that features two of the top five teams in the league. Tri-City (12-3) is currently in a tie for 1st in the league standings. Sioux Falls (8-4-3-2) is in a tie for 3rd.
Storm scoring leaders entering tonight’s matchup include Connor McMenamin, Bryan Yoon, Hugo Blixt, Tyler Ward, Ronnie Attard, Adam Goodsir, and Michael Maloney. McMenamin and Yoon lead the Storm with 10 points on the season. Tri-City goal leaders include Goodsir (5), Attard (4), and Maloney (4). Yoon leads all Storm players with 10 assists on the season.
Tri-City enters tonight’s matchup having won 12 of 15 games to start the season. The Storm have also won four of the last five games. Filip Larsson recorded another victory in goal last night for Tri-City and continues to lead the USHL in several statistical categories. Larsson has recorded the most wins in the league (11) and also has the best goals against average (1.39) and save percentage (.947%) in the USHL this season.
Sioux Falls forward Khristian Acosta leads all Stampede players with 16 points entering tonight’s battle with the Storm. Acosta also leads the team in assists with 12 on the year. Adam Dawe has scored 9 goals in his first 15 games and leads the Stampede in goals scored. Mikhail Berdin leads Stampede goalies with a 7-3-2-1 record on the season and a 2.51 Goals Against Average (GAA). Berdin scored a goal for the Stampede last Saturday night in a 7-4 win over Muskegon. The goal was an empty netter than sealed the win for Sioux Falls. The unusual goaltender goal was made national headlines and was featured on NHL.com.
