Urbandale, IA. – The Tri-City Storm dropped a road game to the Des Moines Buccaneers in Iowa on Saturday night. The Buccaneers scored two goals in the second period, and added two in the third to down the Storm 4-1.

Tri-City dropped just their third game of the season, and second road game of the season on Saturday night at Buccaneer Arena in Urbandale, IA. Following a 4-0 home win the night before, the Storm could not generate the offense needed to match the Buccaneers in the rematch game on Saturday. Des Moines got goals from Brian Halonen, Mike Hardman, Reed Lebster, and Julian Napravnik while goaltender Jake Kucharski stopped 31 of 32 Tri-City shots to preserve the victory for the Buccaneers.

The Storm’s only goal of the evening was scored by Connor McMenamin at 8:41 of the 2nd period. The goal tied the game at 1-1 before three unanswered goals were scored by Des Moines. Storm goalie Jake Barczewski recorded his first career USHL loss, allowing 3 goals on 23 shots. His season record now stands at 1-1.

The Storm return to action on Wednesday night when they face off against the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box in Lincoln, NE. The Storm are 2-0 vs. Lincoln this season, and have outscored the Stars 9-1. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
