Storm look to stay hot tonight vs. Des Moines

Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm hit the road tonight to take on the Des Moines Buccaneers, a team the Storm defeated by a four goal margin last night at the Viaero Center. The Storm have now won ten games, and became the first team in the USHL this season to eclipse the double digit win mark in last night’s 4-0 defeat of Des Moines. Tonight’s game will be the first a four game road trip for Tri-City.

Last night the Storm offense provided four goals with Blais Richartz, Ronnie Attard, Johnny McDermott, and Wyllum Deveaux each scoring for Tri-City. Goalie Filip Larsson turned away all 12 Des Moines shots and recorded his third shutout of the season, and second in the last six days.


Tri-City improved to 10-2 on the season with the victory, and has now won eight of the last nine games. The Storm penalty kill was a perfect three for three last night, and is now the #1 ranked penalty kill in the USHL.


Des Moines fell to 5-7-0-1 last night in the loss to Tri-City. The Buccaneers will look to respond at home tonight in their fifth home game of the season. Des Moines has only won one of its previous four home games on the season. The Storm are 4-1 on the road and have a four game road winning streak.


In last night’s loss, the Buccaneers failed to score a goal for the third time this season. The shutout loss to Tri-City was the second consecutive game where Des Moines failed to register a goal.


Filip Larsson provided the shutout last night for the Storm, improving his record to 9-2 on the season. Larsson leads the USHL in shutouts, goals against average, and save percentage.


Tyler Ward, Connor McMenamin, Hugo Blix, and Bryan Yoon all lead the Storm with 8 points scored this season. Adam Goodsir leads all Storm players with 4 goals, and Bryan Yoon leads the team with 8 assists.
