Muskegon, MI. – The Tri-City Storm have continued to compile points in the USHL standings, adding to their total with a wild 3-2 shootout win last night in Muskegon, MI.

The Storm are off to the best start in franchise history, winning seven of their first eight games to begin the 2017-2018 season. Last night’s win marked the 5th victory in a row for a Tri-City team that sits at the top of the USHL standings with 14 points.
Tonight’s matchup is a rematch between the Storm and the Lumberjacks following a hectic finish last night in Muskegon. Hugo Blixt tied the game at 2-2 with less than 30 seconds left in regulation time to force OT. The game would continue on to a shootout, where the Storm would have Filip Forsmark and Adam Goodsir score goals to give Tri-City the 3-2 victory.
Fillip Larsson picked up his sixth win of the season, and now has a goals against average (GAA) of 1.59 through seven games played. Hugo Blixt became the 11th different Storm player to score a goal this season in last night’s contest. Connor McMenamin leads all Storm players with 7 points on the season.
The current Storm win streak of five games is the teams longest on the season. Tri-City can take sole possession of 1st place in the Western Conference standings for the first time this season with a win, and a Fargo home loss to Waterloo.
