Storm presents Cross Check Cancer Weekend at the Viaero Center
The Tri-City Storm invites all fans and members of the Kearney community to join players and coaches at the Viaero Center on Thursday, October 19 from 6-9 p.m. for its annual Paint the Ice event. This event is free and open to the public.
This will mark the fourth year Tri-City has painted the ice to remember those affected by all cancers. On Thursday, the Storm will provide anyone who comes to the Viaero Center between 6pm-9pm with paint brushes and paint. Tri-City asks all attending to write the names of those affected by cancer on the ice. The two games played this weekend will be on the ice that holds the names of those who have been affected by cancer.
The Color Out Cancer game will be held on the painted ice against the Omaha Lancers on Friday at 7:35 p.m. The Storm will wear one-night-only jerseys that will be raffled off throughout the remainder of the season. The Crosscheck Cancer game will also be held on the painted ice and the opponent will be the Lincoln Stars. A different set of specialty jerseys will be worn, with the jerseys being auctioned off after the game.
All auctioned jersey proceeds will go to the Storm’s “Jerseys for a Cause” fund which has raised over $30,000 for local charities over the past three seasons.
Color Out Cancer on Friday night will begin at 7:35pm and is presented by Midway. Tickets
Cross Check Cancer on Saturday night will begin at 7:35pm and is presented by Kearney Concrete. Tickets
