Kearney, Neb. – Simon Denis returned from an upper-body injury and led the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye to a 4 games to 1 victory in the Kelly Cup Playoffs Central Division Finals against Fort Wayne. The Walleye reached the Western Conference Finals, where they face the winner of Colorado-Allen. Former Storm Captain Kenny Brooks is on Colorado and the Eagles lead the best-of-seven series, 3-2.

On the other side of the Kelly Cup bracket, Manchester’s Daniel Doremus had six points (3g) in the North Division Finals, catapulting the Monarchs to an Eastern Conference Finals showdown against South Carolina. Former Storm broadcaster Jared Shafran is in the Voice of the Stingrays and has broadcasted a pair of double-overtime wins.

Nashville eliminated St. Louis from the Stanley Cup Playoffs but Blues forward Jaden Schwartz led the team in playoff goals (4) and points (9). The 2010 USHL All-Star also became the fourth Blues player to score three game-winning goals in a single postseason.

Two Storm alumni – Trevor Moore and Pheonix Copley – are still alive in the AHL’s Calder Cup Playoffs. Copley is the starting goalie for Hershey and the Bears are tied, 1-1, in the best-of-seven Atlantic Division Finals against league-best Providence. Toronto’s Moore recorded an assist Friday against Syracuse in Game 1 of the North Division Finals, but the Marlies fell and trail the Crunch, 2-0, in the best-of-seven.
