USHL honors Weissbach, Goodsir with end-of-season awards

Kearney, Neb. –Tri-City Storm forward Linus Weissbach was named to the All-USHL Third Team and Captain Adam Goodsir was selected to the USHL All-Rookie Second Team and the league’s All-Academic team, the USHL announced Wednesday.

Weissbach, 18, topped the Storm in goals (19), assists (28) and points (47) in his first USHL season. The 5-foot-9, 165-lb. winger was ranked #139 among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting’s Final Rankings. A native of Gothenburg, Sweden, Weissbach is committed to Wisconsin and was selected by the Storm in the 2nd round of the 2016 Phase II Draft. He led the Storm with four game-winning goals and two overtime winners.

The Denver commit Goodsir is a senior at Kearney High School and has maintained a GPA better than 4.0 this academic year. The 18-year-old finished third among league rookies with 16 goals and led Tri-City with 80 penalty minutes. Goodsir is a native of Okemos, Michigan and will remain in Kearney through May to graduate from high school. In January, he was one of five Storm representatives at the 2017 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. Last season, Goodsir was named the NAHL’s 2016 Rookie of the Year with the Wichita Falls Wildcats.
