Foskey scores second USHL goal
Kearney, Neb. – After scoring the first goal, the Tri-City Storm allowed three in the second period and suffered a 5-1 loss to the Des Moines Buccaneers Friday at the Viaero Center. Buccaneers forward Isaac Johnson recorded his first hat trick.
Jace Foskey scored the Storm’s goal, assisted by Logan Drevitch, five minutes into the first. The 16-year-old Foskey has two goals and six points this season. Drevitch has six points with Tri-City this season.
Des Moines scored three times in the final 6:03 of the second. Johnson scored two goals in the third to complete the hat trick.
Eric Dop competed through the tough second frame and finished with 24 saves. Nick MacNab made 19 straight saves to end the game and netted his ninth win of the campaign.
Tri-City looks to rebound against Omaha Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Storm starts a four-game home stand next Friday, February 24 at 7:05 p.m. against Sioux Falls.
Foskey scored on Tri-City’s first shot, ripping a wrist shot through traffic that beat MacNab at 5:20 of the opening frame. The native of Southlake, Texas recorded his first tally since New Year’s Eve against Lincoln. Logan Drevitch assisted.
Prior to the goal, MacNab had made his first 63 saves in two starts against Tri-City.
Des Moines scored three in the final 6:03 of the second, taking a 3-1 lead into intermission. Johnson tallied first, followed by a goal at the post from Julian Napravnik 1:20 later on the man up. To finish the second, Chris Berger stuffed a goal at the left post with 18 seconds left.
Johnson scored at 2:37 of the third and finished the three-goal outing with a wrist shot from the right circle at 6:20.
The Storm was 1-for-2 on the penalty kill and 0-for-3 on the man up.

Saturday, the Storm is on the road at Omaha at 7:05 p.m., with coverage beginning on the Breeze 94.5 FM at 6:45 p.m. with the Viaero Wireless Pregame Show.
Tri-City begins a four-game home stand on Friday, February 24 at 7:05 p.m. against Sioux Falls on “Pack it In Purple Night”, presented by the Kearney Hub and the United Way. The Storm will wear one-night-only jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. Saturday, February 25 at 7:05 p.m., Tri-City hosts Sioux City for Hockey Appreciation Night, with a free postgame skate after, presented by Graham Tire.
