Kearney, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm has transferred forward Ben Taylor to the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), Head Coach and General Manager Bill Muckalt announced Wednesday.

“Ben is a first-class and character person,” Muckalt said. “He’s a great team guy and we want to thank him for all his contributions. This will be a great opportunity for him to develop his game before he heads off to Brown University.”

In 17 games this season, Taylor had two assists and was third on the club with 40 penalty minutes. The native of North Falmouth, Massachusetts played four games for the Storm last season as an affiliate player and scored his first USHL goal against the Des Moines Buccaneers on March 18, 2016.

The Storm hosts Des Moines on Trolls Night this Friday, January 6 at 7:05 p.m., presented by Hilltop Cinema and Kearney Cinema. Tri-City will give away free troll dolls, similar to ones seen in the movie. Plus, it’s a $5 Kids Friday presented by Kearney Taco Bell, featuring a voucher for a free taco and soft drink.

This weekend is a home-and-home against the Buccaneers; The Storm travels to play at Des Moines Saturday at 7:05 p.m., with coverage beginning 15 minutes before puck drop with the Viaero Wireless Pregame Show.
