Five Storm players ranked by NHL Central Scouting

November "Players to Watch" List released for 2017 NHL Draft 

Kearney, Neb. – Tri-City Storm goaltender Dayton Rasmussen, defenseman Joseph Campolieto and forwards Paul Washe, Wyatt Bongiovanni and Adam Goodsir have been ranked on NHL Central Scouting’s November “Players to Watch” List for the 2017 NHL Draft.

Rasmussen was awarded a “B” rating, indicating he a candidate to be picked in the second or third round of June’s NHL Draft. In October’s Preliminary Players to watch list, Rasmussen was deemed a “C” prospect, representing a 4th, 5th, or 6th round pick.

The other four were given “C” ratings, the same mark achieved on October’s list. The list grades players on a scale of “A” (first-round candidate), “B”, “C” or limited viewing (injured players).

Seventy-seven players on USHL rosters this season with named to the list, an increase of nine players from October’s Preliminary Players to Watch List. The 77 players is tied for the highest number of prospects listed for any junior league in the world. Sixty-three of the 77 players have NCAA Division I college commitments, including four of the Storm’s players.

Rasmussen, 18, is committed to Denver and has helped the Storm earn points in his last five starts (4-0-1-0). He ranks 10th in the league with a 2.22 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

The defenseman Campolieto, acquired from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights (NAHL) on October 11, has three assists in seven games. The Union commit pairs with Philip Alftberg, who leads USHL defensemen in goals (4).

Washe is second on the Storm with six goals and 12 points. The 17-year-old is committed to Western Michigan and is tied for second on the squad with four power-play points.

Bongiovanni is tied for second on the club with seven assists and ranks fourth with ten points. In his second USHL campaign, the 17-year-old has equaled the number of goals (3) scored last season in 57 games with Des Moines. Bongiovanni has points in ten of 14 games this season.

Goodsir, 18, scored his first USHL goal on November 4 vs. Omaha. In 13 games, the Denver commit has one goal, three points and a plus-five rating.

The Storm is home for a pair of contests against Youngstown on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19. Friday is UNK Night, presented by Hilltop Mall, featuring $8 tickets for college students. Plus, it’s a $5 Kids Friday for kids 12 and under, brought to you by Kearney Taco Bell.

Saturday’s game features special intermission Wiener Dog Races, presented by Fairview Vet Clinic. Finish up the weekend with a free postgame skate after Saturday’s action.
