Avalanche pick Clurman in 6th round

Buffalo, N.Y. – Storm defenseman Nate Clurman was selected in the sixth round, No. 161 overall by the Colorado Avalache in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft Saturday at the First Niagara Center. 

Clurman, 18, was a member of the Storm’s affiliate list in 2015-16 and played the last three seasons for the Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana. The native of Boulder, Colorado completed Main Camp with the Storm last weekend.  

The Notre Dame commit stands 6-foot-2, 198 pounds and is a right-handed shot. NHL Central Scouting ranked Clurman as 187th-best North American Skater in its Final Rankings. 

Clurman was drafted in the 13th round, 209th overall by the Tri-City Storm in Phase II of the 2015 USHL Entry Draft.
