Kearney, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm is excited to announce the 2016-17 Promotional Schedule, featuring 30 home dates, great giveaways and a very special home opener.
Coming off a 2016 Clark Cup Championship, Tri-City kicks off the season with Championship Night on September 30 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Sioux City. The Storm will raise its Clark Cup Championship Banner and give away a special championship pennant to the first 1,000 fans. Presented by Viaero Wireless, Championship night will include a pregame ceremony to honor last season’s championship team as well as tributes throughout the night.
The following night, October 1, the Storm hosts Lincoln at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans receive a commemorative Storm magnet schedule, courtesy of Kearney Ag and Auto Repair. The Saturday night showdown is sponsored by Nebraska Lottery.
FULL PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE
Among the highlights of the promotional schedule, the Storm joins the battle against cancer the weekend of October 13-15. On Thursday, October 13, paint the ice with the Storm to remember those affected by cancer. Friday, October 14 is the annual Color Out Cancer Night, presented by Midway Auto Dealerships. Help raise money for cancer research as Cedar Rapids visits the Viaero Center at 7:05 p.m.
To cap the weekend, the Storm hosts Lincoln on October 15 at 7:05 p.m. Concrete Cares Night, presented by Kearney Concrete, is a special night dedicated to local families affected by cancer. The Storm wears specialty jerseys on both nights in support of these great programs.
Tri-City salutes all brave first responders on First Responders Night, presented by New West Sports Medicine, on Friday, December 2 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Waterloo. All kids 12 and under receive $5 kids tickets to Friday home games.
For the second straight year, the Storm and Sammy’s Superheroes Foundation take on pediatric cancer with Sammy’s Superheroes Night, presented by First National Bank. The game is Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Muskegon and features specialty jerseys.
Last year, the Storm and Sammy’s Superheroes Foundation gave six local children affected by cancer a gameday experience with Storm players. In particular, Storm captain Tory Dello and Sammy Nahorny, for whom the foundation is named after, created a special bondthrough this partnership.
Also returning is Ugly Sweater Night (Fri., Dec. 10), Taste of Nebraska Night (Sat., Jan. 21), Pack it in Purple Night (Fri., Feb. 24) and Casino Night (Sat., Mar. 25).
Tickets for the Tri-City Storm’s home preseason game on Friday, September 2 against the Lincoln Stars are on sale at the Viaero Center Box Office. The game begins at 7:05 p.m. and is the Storm’s first contest since winning the Clark Cup in May. Admission is free for season ticket holders and $5 for the public.
